Since my early teenage years, I have struggled with social anxiety and as much as I’d wanted to do therapy after a while, I was very afraid to do it because I wasn’t sure I would be able to find someone that would understand me and the problems I was facing.
But after meeting Elleen, I was able to have a very positive therapy experience on my first try which doesn’t happen to everyone. Elleen is compassionate and shows real empathy but she also encourages me to challenge myself with her large range of therapy techniques. That have helped me progress in so many areas of my life which have felt stagnant for so long. Elleen is very approachable and from the beginning made me feel comfortable and supported during the sessions. She gave me time and space to talk through what was happening to me and explained things clearly, at the right pace, so that each session felt positive. The information and theory around different patterns of thought was really useful, and importantly, Elleen gave me practical suggestions for things I could do to understand my emotions and manage the physical symptoms they were giving me. She gave me time to try these suggestions out, and helped me to adapt them to work for me personally. This really helped me move forward.

At one of the most challenging times in my life, when it felt like someone had thrown all the cards up in the air and when they landed, they landed in mud, Elleen provided such a safe and controlled space to stop, reflect, assess and commit to move forward!
